I can’t recommend Gemma highly enough! I was brand new to any kind of coaching / therapy, so I guess I was feeling guarded around how vulnerable I might be in the sessions.. Before we worked together, I was anxious, stressed out, hypervigilant, with catastrophising thoughts. I was struggling most with feeling out of control and anxious. I didn’t feel like I could trust my mind or body anymore. I was constantly worried about being anxious, which made me anxious. This stemmed from feeling anxious on flights and bled into my wider life. After the sessions, I noticed things slowing down. Gemma helped me see things from a new perspective, challenged some of my ways of thinking, and helped me disrupt unhelpful behavioural patterns.”
The techniques Gemma uses are often very subtle, at times you don’t feel like you’re being coached or in a form of therapy, which I think is a good thing. But the effects compound after each session. I felt like a huge weight was lifted even after the first session. Because of our work, I now enjoy life more, try to see the positives before dwelling on the negatives, am more open to new experiences, and seek support in other areas of my life instead of going through everything alone.
The improvements I’ve noticed in my mental health are massive. Plus, Gemma is easy-going, fun, intelligent, and fascinating to work with. She immediately felt like a friend, someone I could trust. I never felt judged, always welcomed. My sessions always felt like a place I could be myself. Being in session, I felt a greater sense of space, not only to be heard but in my physical body too. It’s not always easy; your mind is put to work and afterwards you sometimes feel like your brain has had a workout! But always positive. Thank you!
